What to Expect When Visiting...
Worship Service
The service begins at 9:30 a.m. There is a large print "Order of Worship" available from the ushers.
The service begins with our Call to Beginning. Our liturgy includes: singing of hymns, special music by the choir, readings, a sermon and a children's time. Open communion is the first Sunday of each month.
Please feel free to come as you are most comfortable. Some people come each week dressed up while others are quite casual. This "come as you are" atmosphere extends beyond mere clothing and other adornments - we welcome all seekers.
Fifth Sunday
In addition, Rev. Kesler has introduced non-traditional services on the last Sunday of those months containing five Sundays. Called "Fifth Sundays," these multi-dimensional, multi-generational worship services often include elements of theatre, sacred dance, poetry and varied styles of music, including every genre from classical to hip-hop.
Location
We are located at 501 South Emerson Street, Mount Prospect, IL. (Directions) The main entrance is located at the southeast corner of ShaBonee Trail and Emerson Street. There you will find soneone who will greet you. Information about the church is available in the Narthex and Greeters can direct you to handicap accessible restrooms on the main floor.
Parking
Our main parking lot is directly behind the church on ShaBonee Trail. In addition, we have an overflow lot across the street. Parking is allowed on both Emerson Street and ShaBonee Trail for two hours.
Handicapped Accessibility
We have several handicap parking spaces reserved near our ramp in the main parking lot.
Fellowship (After the Service)
We encourage visitors to join the congregation in the Library (downstaris by kitchen) for refreshments. Congregation members are happy to meet and talk with you, to share impressions and experiences, and to welcome you to a church that encourages each person's unique spiritual journey.

If you'd like to have our pastor contact you, please fill out a visitor card located in every church pew and place it in the offering plate.
Becoming A Member...
Becoming a member of The South Church is very easy. Any person wishing to join can speak with the Pastor, a Deacon or, during the final hymn of any worship service, proceed to the front of the Sanctuary where you will be greeted by the Pastor and a Deacon.
The Pastor will arrange to meet with you and then make a recommendation to the Deacons' Board. The Deacons will also meet with you for the purpose of becoming acquainted and learning how the church community can partner with you in your spiritual journey and provide opportunities for service.
The Deacons’ recommendation is then presented to the Council for approval and a date is set to officially welcome you into the church membership during a regular worship service.
