The South Church of Mount Prospect has been a "community church" from it's founding nearly 75 years ago. What does it mean to be a "community church"? For The South Church, it means more than providing worship service. It also means supporting community businesses, projects and events - such as the Historical Society annual House Walk. It means opening its doors for meetings, workshops and the many other events important to members of our community.
We have been the weekly meeting sites for Cub and Boy Scouts, Brownies and Girl Scouts and various businesses. Besides weddings, we have had quilting classes, violin lessons, Italian school, birthday and anniversary parties, wedding rehearsal dinners, square dances and Yoga classes held here, just to name a few. In addition, we are the worship site for two churches besides ours, who hold weekly worship services in The South Church Chapel, and a Montesouri School.
If you have a need for a meeting site, contact the church office at (847) 253-0501, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or complete this online request form, Rental Inquiry. Someone will be happy to speak with you. Our fees are reasonable, we have plenty of folding tables and chairs for most events, a large kitchen with two commercial stoves, refrigerator space, and plenty of parking.
Pyung Kang is a Korean language Baptist church which meets each Sunday at 2 p.m. for worship. Rev. Ho Young Chung and his congregation hold their services in the Chapel.
We are affiliated with the American Baptist Churches USA. We come from Burma. Some arrived in the 1990s and some arrived after 2000. Our mission is to reach out to our fellow Burmese people as well as our neighbors. We have worship service at 5:30 p.m. every Sunday, followed by a fellowship potluck dinner. We often celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and combined worship services with other Burmese ethnic churches around the Chicago area. Sometimes we gather at member's houses for special occasions. - Biak H. Mang, PastorFor more information, visit www.chicagomyanmarchurch.org.
Montessori Schoolhouse introduces children to the joy of learning at an early age. We provide a framework in which individual and social discipline go hand in hand. Each child has his own intelligence, emotional integrity, independence, and character. Montessori Schoolhouse is a place that seeks to serve these special qualities so that the child can meet his greatest potential. - Lucy Emerle, Executive DirectorFor more information, visit www.busybees-homedaycare.com.
