The South Church is a friendly church on a quiet street in Mount Prospect, Illinois.
Inside you will find a community of people who are open, inclusive and affirming of all persons.

Join us for Worship and Children's Sunday School every Sunday at 10:30 a.m.

Here's what you can expect when you visit ...

A community of faith where people can express and explore their theological differences in a safe and supportive environment. Read more about this on the "What We Believe" page.

A place that is committed to the mission of caring for others. As St. Francis of Assisi is reported to have said, "Preach the gospel at all times. If necessary, use words!" At The South Church, we try to not only talk the talk, but walk the walk. Read more about our programs that help others on the "How We Serve" page.

A place where traditional and contemporary music blend. For example, our choir sings on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month, The South Church Combo performs on 2nd Sundays, and soloists and instrumentalists provide music on 4th Sundays. On "5th Sundays," Rev. Rick Kesler offers a unique worship experience, which is usually a combination of music, theater and dance. Video of our church performances can be found on Youtube and Facebook.

An interpreter who signs for the hearing-impaired every Sunday. A nursery is also available for children under the age of three during all worship services.

An open communion celebration on the first Sunday of every month ... all are invited to participate.

FOOD ON THE 4TH: On the 4th Sunday of every month, we bring canned goods, boxed foodstuffs, and household items to the worship service for donation to local food pantries. During the singing of the first hymn, we come forward to place these items near the altar as a visual reminder of the richness of our lives, and our commitment to assisting those who need a helping hand from time to time. Donations can be made at any time (not just on 4th Sundays) and placed in the baskets in the narthex or next to the church office. Foods that are high in protein, such as canned meat and fish, are especially needed.

All are welcome at The South Church ... join us!
